Hydrogen & Power- to-X

12th July 2021
10:30 am - 11:30 am BST - London

Co-firing thermal power plants with green fuels like hydrogen helps operators reduce their emission footprint. Turbine manufacturers have embarked on a race to make their equipment “hydrogen-ready,” and many turbines already run on a 30:70 mix of hydrogen and natural gas. Power-to-X makes use of excess wind and solar power supply to generate liquid fuels or synthetic energy carriers that can be stored as a zero-carbon power source for later use.

  • Learn from our expert speakers on the adoption of these innovative technologies.

Erik Zindel from Siemens Energy is Vice President for Generation Sales - Hydrogen and leads the initiative for hydrogen combustion in gas turbine as well as business development around the hydrogen value chain. Erik has been with Siemens for 27 years out of Germany, Spain, Mexico, South Korea and the UK, working on large fossil-fired as well as industrial power plants and renewables. He grew up in the Spanish city of Zaragoza and holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from TU Darmstadt.

Tanguy Cosmao is the Project Director of the H2HSaltend Project where he is responsible for project execution and delivery of Equinor’s hydrogen roadmap within the Humber region. Tanguy has held various senior positions within Equinor, including President of the company’s operations in Azerbaijan and more recently Project Director of the Brasilian Bacahlau project which attained FID in May 2021. Tanguy holds a MsC degree in Civil Engineering and Geotechnics from Northwestern University, Chicago, USA and Civil Engineering from Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG), France.

Klaus Payrhuber holds a strategic product development manager position at INNIO Jenbacher. He currently works on the hydrogen initiatives for making gas engines ready for hydrogen operation. Klaus graduated from Graz university of technology, holds a PhD in mechanical engineering and has 23 years of experience in the energy industry.
